Right after the opening ceremony on the morning of April 21, a delegation of experts led by Zhou Ji, Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited the Weida Precision booth for guidance. Lv Huibin, General Manager of Weida Precision, gave the guests a detailed introduction to the technological breakthroughs of the DMC800u and its automated integration solution. Honor Crowned: DMC800u Wins Spring Swallow Award – Another Milestone for Domestic Five-Axis Technology
On the afternoon of April 21, the CCMT 2026 "Spring Swallow Award" ceremony was held at the exhibition's central stage. Weida Precision's independently developed DMC800u five-axis vertical multi-station automated machining unit stood out among hundreds of submitted products to win this most prestigious independent innovation award in China's Machine Tool industry.
The Spring Swallow Award was established in 1988. Its name comes from Comrade Zhu Rongji's inspiring message about the first breakthrough of domestically made CNC Machine Tools — "like the first swallow of spring." The award is known as the "Oscar" of the Machine Tool industry. To win, a product must reach domestically leading and internationally advanced levels, be capable of replacing imports, and fill technical gaps in China.
The DMC800u award marks a solid step forward on the path to independent core technology for domestic five-axis multi-station automated machining units. This unit integrates precision five-axis machining, a multi-station pallet system, automatic loading/unloading, and a digital control system. Walking into Hall E7, the blue-and-white Weida Precision booth was packed with visitors. The four models on display covered precision five-axis, high-efficiency Horizontal Machining Centers, moving-beam gantry, and five-axis bridge-type gantry machines. A dynamic demonstration of the automated logistics unit was also set up on site, allowing visitors to see the entire process: workpieces are automatically retrieved from the 3D storage rack, delivered to the machine tool by AGV, and automatically returned to storage after machining. This attracted a large number of professional visitors to stop, take photos, and make inquiries.
